Suspected kidnapper arrested by police in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command, on Friday, introduced the arrest of a transborder kidnap suspect from the Republic of Benin in Baruten Native Authorities Space of the state.

Merely recognized as Mohammed Alo, the suspect was arrested by the police within the forest inside Kosubosu space of Baruten, based on the spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin on Friday.

The spokesman disclosed that the suspect confessed to be a member of a transborder kidnap gang whose different members had been now in Benin Republic.

“Performing on impeccable intelligence, a workforce of detectives headed by the Divisional Police Officer, Kosubosu, assisted by native vigilantes, stormed the forest inside Kosubosu in Baruten axis, seeking some suspected kidnappers hybanating throughout the forest.

“Consequently, diligent search of the bushes by the police and vigilante workforce led to the arrest of 1 Mohammed Alo ‘M’ a Benin Republic citizen.”

The spokesman mentioned gadgets recovered from him included one locally-made gun, one machete, one jack-knife, two handsets and a sum of N2.300,000.
