PDP Is A One Big United Family

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has come out to declare that the party is a one big united family.

Naija News reports that Ayu at the flag-off of the party’s presidential and governorship campaign in Kwara State on Thursday declared the party is united.

His declaration follows the crisis still rocking the leadership of the party and the five aggrieved governors popularly known as the G5 governors in the PDP.

The G5 less by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike are aggrieved because of Ayu’s refusal to resign his position as the national chairman for a person of southern extraction.

The aggrieved governor have insisted on their stand claiming agitating for equity in the zoning process within the party is what they stand for.

Even though both the aggrieved and the party leadership have said their doors are open for reconciliations, an agreement seems not to have been reached.

A situation that most people have claimed would affect the victory of the party in the forthcoming general election next year because the five governors have divided not to work for the PDP flag bearer Atiku Abubakar.

However Naija News gathered that it was in the midst of this stormy times for the main opposition that it’s national chairman described the Atiku as a unifier.

Ayu, while assuring Nigerians that the party would rescue the country in 2023, said it was the reason the party picked a unifier ( Atiku) as it’s candidate.

The PDP national chairman said the party made a mistake by listening to promises of change, but now it has come back to reclaim and set the country on the right path of unity.

He said “PDP is one big united family, and we are on our way to victory. PDP is back to rescue this country and we are a party for all. This is why we picked a unifier who will unite this country.

“We made a big mistake by listening to promises that we will change, are you comfortable with this change?”
