Paul Onuachu, Yira Sor tastes defeat with Genk in Belgian Cup

Paul Onuachu saw action in Genk’s league cup defeat to Royal Antwerp at the Cegaka Arena on Wednesday night.

The striker led the attacking line for Wouter Vrancken’s side, but fire blank as the visitors secured a shocking 0-3 win.

The lanky forward had a poor outing and was substituted in the 67th minute by the coach who then sent on Mbwana Samatta.

At the end of the game, Onuachu was given rating of 4.5, one of the lowest from all the players that featured in the game.

His compatriot, Yira Sor also came on in the second but failed to make a significant impact.

It was his second game for the Belgian Jupiler league leaders since his move from Slavia Prague this month.

Vincent Janssen gave Royal Antwerp the leader inside the opening three minutes.

Ritchie De Laet then extended the leader three minutes before half time break, before Michel-Ange Balikwisha put the game beyond Genk five minutes after the second half resumption.

The defeat brought an end to Genk’s dream of winning the double this season. They only have the league title to play for.
