NNPP Expels Dep. Gov. Candidate, Chairman, Four Others In Katsina

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Katsina State has announced the dismissal of the state Deputy Governorship candidate, Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, for alleged anti-party activities.

Naija News reports that this was made known by the state Public Relations Officer of the party, Nasiru Usman Kankiya, in a statement to reporters late on Friday night.

He also disclosed that Hon. Sani LitiYankwani, the state party chairman, Dauda Kurfi, the Zonal Party Chairman, Senator Abdu Yandoma, and other party chieftains had been relieved of their positions for indulging in anti-party activities.

He stated that the individuals were sanctioned for attending an alliance meeting with the state APC Governorship candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, in Katsina recently.

Kankiya said the former party chieftains allegedly entered into an alliance to endorse the APC candidate ahead of the upcoming Saturday’s elections.

He said: “Our governorship candidate, Engineer Nura Khalil, has not withdrawn from the race, nor was he intimated of such event. He is still contesting the governorship seat in the state and, by the grace of Allah, will win the coming Saturday’s elections.”

He added that the decision of 19 out of the 26 state executive members had received the approval of the National headquarters of the party in Abuja.

Kankiya said the dismissed officials are therefore requested to handover all party materials in their custody to ensure continuity in the activities of the party in the state.

Also speaking, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Nura Khalil, said he had been warned earlier about the activities of the concerned officials but refused to take his side of the matter.

He said: “Today, their actions have vindicated the whistleblower, as they have been caught in the act of tarnishing the reputable image of our party, the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP, in the state.

“As the governorship candidate of the party, I am still in the race, and Insha Allah will win the coming Saturday’s election in the state.”
