NDLEA Discovers Illicit Drugs Concealed Inside Tubers Of Yam

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have discovered wraps of illicit drugs concealed inside tubers of yam at Lagos Airport.

Naija News reports that the spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, made this known via a video of the incident which he shared.

The video captures one of NDLEA operatives cutting the tuber of yam which was covered with clay before he uncovered the concealed hard drugs inside it.

Femi promised to give more details about the video in the agency’s statement on Sunday.

He tweeted: “This video shows another bust of an attempt to traffic illicit drugs using tubers of yam for concealment as discovered hours ago by NDLEA officers at the Lagos airport. Details will come in our Sunday statement”

Tinubu’s ‘Distant’ In-law, Kolapo Akande Is Dead

Meanwhile, an in-law to the wife of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Dr Kolapo Akande, has been reported dead.

Reports obtained by Naija News on Thursday revealed that Kolapo, who was married to Oluremi Tinubu’s sister, Dr Lola Akande, died on Wednesday night at the age of 72.

A relative who does not want his name in print told reporters that Kolapo has been sick from an undisclosed ailment for some time.

The families of the deceased, however, are yet to announce the sad development publicly. Naija News understands that Akande’s demise is coming a few days after APC confirmed the death of two party chieftains.
