Buhari’s Nephew Opens Up On Reason For Dumping APC For PDP

Honourable Fatuhu Muhammed, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has opened up on the reason for his actions.

The politician, representing the Daura/Mai’Adua/Sandamu Federal Constituency of Katsina State in the National Assembly failed to secure his re-election ticket after polling 30 votes, while Aminu Jamo, his rival secured 117 votes.

Speaking with a correspondent of Daily Trust, Muhammed stated that he left the party because his rival allegedly insulted his father.

Tinubu: Peter Obi Camp Speaks On His Membership Of Pyrates Confraternity

A media aide to the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, Valentine Obienyem has reacted to a claim that his principal belongs to the Pyrates Confraternity.

Obienyem in his reaction stated that Obi is not a member of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), better known as the Pyrates Confraternity.

The clarification followed a claim on Facebook by a user identified as Fejiro Oliver suggesting the former Governor of Anambra State is a member of the group.

Though the post has now been deleted, Oliver had written it in his reaction after a viral video of the confraternity mocking the health status of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

But reacting to claims that Obi is a member of the Pyrates, Obienyem was quoted by The Cable to have denied such.

“Not at all,” the media aide was quoted to a said in a text message in response to enquiries about the matter.

2023 Presidency: Tinubu Is A Bad Product – Atiku Group Tells Keyamo

The Atiku Support Groups have condemned the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, over his comment against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News reports that Keyamo had in a recent interview on Channels TV claimed that the former vice president does not have anything to offer Nigerians as President.

The minister further stated that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is better than Atiku in capacity and experience.

In a statement on Sunday, the group described Tinubu as a bad product, whose source of income, real identity, and educational qualifications are questionable.

The group also faulted Keyamo for saying that Atiku has only been the Vice President and did not have the final say in making decisions while he was in government.

Peter Obi Could Be Impeached As President – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has warned that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi might get impeached if elected president in 2023.

According to Omokri, this would be easily possible if the former Governor of Anambra State lacks senators in the Senate from his party.

Omokri in a post on his Facebook page further stated that Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed are products of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He further stated that the presidential candidate is on sabbatical, adding that the main opposition party is their natural home.

The political activist called supporters of Obi to vote for the presidential candidate of the PDP in 2023.

How Retired Army General Stopped Atiku From Giving Wike VP Ticket

A retired Army General from a state in the North-Western part of the country reportedly influenced the decision not to pick Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

It was gathered that some conservative Northern elements in the party had prevailed on Atiku to drop Wike despite promising to give him the running mate ticket just after the presidential primary of the PDP.

A source told The Nation that the conservative Northern elements had also prevailed on the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, to step down for Atiku during the PDP presidential primaries.

The PDP source said the influential retired Army General and a former governor from another state in the North-West zone were the arrowheads of the anti-Wike group.

Atiku had visited Wike at his private residence just after the PDP primary, although discussions at the meeting were not made public.

Makinde Does Not Deserve Re-Election – Oyo APC Give Reasons

Oyo State’s main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Governor Seyi Makinde does not deserve re-election for a second term in office come 2023.

APC in a statement obtained by Naija News on Monday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has failed woefully in the state, hence another chance to lead will breed serious insecurity in Oyo State.

The statement issued by the APC State Secretary in the state, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, said PDP is out to silence opposition and turn Oyo into a one-party state.

It accused the Makinde-led government of becoming too intolerant of opposition in the state because the PDP know that they have failed woefully, and they don’t have any good thing to offer the good people of the state.

Olanite accused Governor Makinde of using the instrumentalities of the state to empower thugs that have been fingered in the killing of some people in the state.

The APC spoke against an alleged threat to kill the party’s 2023 governorship candidate in the state, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, who doubles also as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content.

Obidient Movement Not Ordinary, It Is Divine – Catholic Priest

Nigerian Catholic priest serving in Malawi, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu has said that those opposing the presidency of Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi are not being logical.

In a post on Facebook, the clergyman said that the Obidient movement is not ordinary.

Citing Obi’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and his wide acceptance across the country after moving to the LP, the clergyman insisted that the former governor’s ambition and move is a divine arrangement.

The priest stated further that those who have tried to pull the LP candidate down so far had “ended up killing and making a mess of their reputations”.

Four PDP Chieftains, Supporters Defect To APC In Kebbi State

At least four Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Kebbi State have withdrawn their membership from the party, blaming their decision on the crisis rocking the umbrella camp.

The politicians who hail from the Zuru Emirate of Kebbi, alongside their supporters, immediately pledged their allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Naija News learnt.

The defectors include Alhaji Shehu Ribah from Danko/Wasagu; Alhaji Nuhu Goma from Zuru; Alhaji Adamu Jalalo from Fakai and Alhaji Babuga Diri from Sakaba Local Government Areas of the state.

The former PDP members were received into the APC fold at a rally in Zuru over the weekend.

In his address, while receiving the new members, the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Samaila Yombe-Dabai accompanied by the APC chairman in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, congratulated the politicians, describing the event as a monumental political development in the state.

2023: Why Peter Obi Hid His Defection Plan From Atiku – Obi Ally

The reason the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi failed to inform the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar of his defection plan from the party has emerged.

A close ally of the former governor of Anambra State said Obi failed to inform Atiku of his plan after sources informed him that Atiku had no plan to pick his running mate from the South-East.

The ally who spoke with The Guardian on condition of anonymity said they got information that the former vice president planted a candidate in one of the thriving young parties before the presidential primary of PDP.

According to the source, Atiku saw the strength in the younger parties, with the experience of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) in 2019, which made a good impression at the poll.
