The duo opened up on their observation shortly after the closing ceremony of the zonal elimination stages of the national youth games held in Taraba State.
The Sports Directors asked Governor Darius Ishaku to expend more resources on the state sports sector as could boost youth development in the state and region at large.
They also urged Ishaku and his counterparts to prioritize the sporting sector in the region as a means of generating revenue.
Maintaining that some international players have overstayed their welcome, the directors explained that the forthcoming national youth games will help in identifying young talents with fresh blood to take over from the old ones.
They also expressed concern at the way and manner some states of the region brought in over-aged athletes to represent them at the national sporting event.
The duo urged state sport directors to desist from such acts as it was capable of disqualifying the zone from participating actively in the national youth games.

Meanwhile, the Director of Sports, Taraba State, George Shitta expressed delight at the successful zonal elimination championship in preparation for the upcoming 6th National Youth Games for under-15 athletes.
He said, “From the attendance, that is the number of athletes that participated, I think it was a very good one for me because five states including Taraba participated, It’s only Yobe State that was absent, so we have hosted a successful zonal elimination sports event.”
Some of the athletes who bared their minds to NaijaTABLOID described the championship as an opportunity that could catapult their dreams to the highest heights.
The event which was hosted by the Taraba State Sports Council took place at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in the Jalingo metropolis.
