I wrote book to teach kids about culture — Omotayo

OMOTAYO

A model, fashion designer and entrepreneur, Tania Omotayo, has said that she wrote a book titled, ‘Sarai’s Culture Day’, to inspire the next generation to embrace their culture and heritage.

A statement sent to Saturday Beats, described the book as a ‘warm and uplifting one that is the perfect springboard to teach children the importance of embracing their culture and heritage. It encourages schools across Europe and Africa to have their own ‘culture day’ to learn and showcase their culture and heritage’.

Omotayo also encouraged young people to know that their originality is their superpower. She added that it was inspired by her three-year-old daughter, Sarai.

She said, “I want young people to understand that they are uniquely perfect just the way they are, irrespective of race, religion and culture. Always be proud of where you come from. There can only ever be one you.”

The book, which is published by Kunda Kids, a children’s publishing, education technology and media company, will be officially released in London (United Kingdom) and Lagos (Nigeria). It was illustrated by Chike Obasi.

On her part, the co-founder of Kunda Kids, Louisa Olafuyi, said, “Children should be encouraged to embrace their cultures, which positively impacts how they see themselves and embrace others too.”
