Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar’s statement that he may not use Nigerian hospitals for his personal health care if elected into power in 2023.

Naija News recalls that Atiku, during the Arise Television presidential town hall meeting series, on Sunday,  had revealed that he might not patronize Nigeria health care facilities if he becomes the next president in the country.

The PDP flagbearer said that the reason for this is because the hospitals that would cater for him might not be available as there are limitations in the Nigeria’s health sector.

According to him, “Health facilities that cater to my health may not be available.”

“We have limitations; we know we have those limitations.”

Reacting to Atiku’s statement via his Twitter handle, Sani praised Atiku for not toeing the line of deception.

He wrote: “Rather than lie that when he wins he will restrict himself to Nigerian hospital, it’s better that Atiku refused to toe that path of campaign deception.”

Nigerian political elites are known for visiting foreign hospitals for their medical welfare and this decision has mostly being attributed to the inadequate medical facilities in the country.
