The Director of media, Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (GICC), Ntufam Hillard Etta has described the rumoured rancour between the GICC and the main Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as untrue.

According to him, the two organisations are working together for the same course, which is to ensure the victory of Bola Tinubu as President come 2023.

Naija News gathered that Etta who made the clarification on Monday in Abuja at the inauguration of the 20-member media and publicity sub-committee of the GICC explained that the two groups are there to complement each other.

He, however, admitted that the GICC is a subsidiary of the main campaign council, adding that the two councils are working in tandem.

Etta advanced that “There is no rancour between the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (GICC). The two are working in tandem. The big picture for us is to see Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu elected and sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of May, 2023.

“We have the PCC and we have a subsidiary campaign organisation, that is the GICC. We are working hand-in gloves. There is no crisis between us. We are working in concert. We are only complementing the PCC. We are not taking over their job.

“You will not hear that GICC is organising rallies in big towns and cities. But you are going to find GICC in farmlands, fishing ponds and community football competitions. You will never see us at city rallies.”

Naija News learnt that Etta blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for such rumour peddling, noting that the opposition can never manufacture a crisis for the ruling party.

He asked PDP to attend to its self-inflicted crisis and stop spreading unfounded rumours about the campaign organisations of the governing party.

The GICC director general also charged members of the newly inaugurated committee to go the extra mile in actualising the vision and mission of the founding fathers of the council.
