More world-renowned celebrities are becoming aware of Black Sherif’s talent. The renowned Senegalese-American artist Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, popularly known as Akon, has made some claims about the Ghanaian superstar.
Akon is the newest addition to the long list of famous people who have found fulfilment in the work of the Konongo-born artist.
The business tycoon claimed that his Malian friend had sold him on Blacko’s music the moment he heard it.
The singer of the song “Lonely” was talking on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
The sorrow, hunger, and struggle he heard in Black Sherif’s voice from the start left him with little doubt that Black Sherif is on to something big.

Since then, the Senegalese-American singer and composer has been a fan and may end up signing the 20-year-old vocalist if necessary.
“I’m a huge fan of Black Sherif, he reminded me of the energy of myself when I first came out, you could literally hear the pain, the struggle and the challenges in his voice whenever he sings.”
For him, Blacko’s message is one that depicts the desperation to succeed among the younger generation on the African continent.
“He is currently the voice of the youth in Africa,” he added.
