Atalanta boss desperate for Lookman to Rediscover Goal scoring run

Atalanta’s head coach Gian Gasperini is worried over his side’s lack of goals but he’s banking on Ademola Lookman to rediscover his scoring form.

Lookman carried Atalanta’s goal burden in the first half of the season, netting eleven goals in total.

The striker however hasn’t enjoyed the best of form in the second half of the campaign, scoring just once and has fired blank in four games.

Atalanta, who lost for the third time in their last four Serie A outings, had zero shots on target throughout the game.

Speaking after Atalanta’s 2-0 defeat to Milan, Gasperini admits his side rely heavily on Ademola Lookman.

“We need goals from everyone. I don’t know if Lookman can repeat the number of goals he scored in the first half of the season, although we hope he will.

“Hojlund is also young and will improve, while the others have so far not contributed as many goals as they should.

“We hope that they can become decisive in the final stages of the season, otherwise Atalanta become too limited.”

They remain sixth in the standings on 41 points and next host Udinese on Saturday, while Milan play against Fiorentina later that day.
