What Jonathan Said After Visiting FRSC Office To Renew Driver’s Licence

Nigeria’s former leader, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was at the headquarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja, yesterday, to renew his expired driver’s license, Naija News understands.

A statement by FRSC’s spokesman Bisi Kazeem quoted the former president as saying he was satisfied with the latest technology being used by the agency.

Jonathan according to Kazeem, said he was satisfied with the services rendered to him by the FRSC during his visit.

He commended the agency for being focused and effective in the deployment of the new technology.

Jonathan lauded the processes at the driver’s licence capture centre, saying he believe the corps has a key role to play in arresting the security situation in the country.

I am impressed with what I have seen and I am happy that this agency is functioning optimally, very focused and highly effective,” Kazeem quoted the former president as saying.

He added: “I am always proud of the deployment of technology and I believe the corps has a key role to play in arresting the security situation in the country.”

The celebrated politician stressed further that there were no more shortcuts to obtaining a driver’s licence, noting that it could no longer be done by proxy following the deployment of technology.

Naija News understands that Jonathan was received at the agency’s headquarters yesterday by the FRSC corps marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi.

Oyeyemi was said to have led the former president on a tour of some of the critical operations, information and communication technology facilities domiciled at the headquarters of the FRSC.

Part of the facilities visited included the emergency call centre (122), the monitoring and control room, and other vital national infrastructure domiciled at the headquarters of the FRSC.
