“We Need Players Who Can Run”

Burnley’s coach, Vincent Kompany, has sent a message to Portugal’s talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo following his Manchester United exit.

The former Manchester City defender says that the Clarets would only have “guys who can run” in their team.

In response to the Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, becoming a free agent on Tuesday, Kompany made this statement.

Naija News recalls that the former Juventus forward’s contract was recently terminated by the Manchester Club following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan last week.

The Portuguese revealed that the club “betrayed” him and that he has no “respect” for his manager, Erik Ten Hag who recently switched to Manchester United from Ajax.

The Forward however exposed that the club’s facility has not changed since he left for Real Madrid in 2009.

As a result of this, Manchester United, after a detailed investigation has been done, reached a mutual agreement with their number seven to exit the club with “immediate effect”.

Kompany, while speaking on Ronaldo’s exit said,

“I think in the end everyone loses except for perhaps the Manchester United manager.

“I think it’s a problem that’s resolved and they will move on from this I’m sure.”

With speculations now rife over Ronaldo’s destination, Kompany has made it clear they won’t make a move for the 37-year-old.

“We need players who can run,” he simply replied when asked.
