WAFU B U20 Girl’s Cup: Falconets bow to Ghana

The Falconets at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi lost the final 3-1 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Prior to the game, Falconets had won four previous games, scoring nineteen goals and conceded none.

Ghana got off to flying start and deservedly went in front on 39th minute, although from the penalty kick converted by Stella Nyamekye.

The hosts were four minutes away from winning glory when Flourish Sabastine scored the leveler for Falconets.

The late equalizer sent the game straight into the penalties, and the Ghanaian team held their nerves to win 3-1.

Chinyere Kalu converted her kick, while Chidinma Ogbuchi, Flourish Sebastine and Esther Onyenezide all missed from the spot.
