Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Police Force said it has apprehended two Fulani youthS for cutting-off their hands during a fight at Bakin-Ruwa settlement in Garin-Alkali, Bursari Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday in Damaturu said the two suspects namely: Adamu Bukar Moh’d, 25 and Bukar Audu, 25. were arrested after information reached the Garin-Alkali Police Station in the early hours of the day.
He said the duo fought each other with cutlasses and sticks which turned out to be bloody as a result both suspects’ palms were chopped off from the wrist of the left hands.
“The reason for the fighting is yet to be revealed as both suspects were unconscious and admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru for medical treatment”, he explained.
According to ASP Abdulkarim the Command has commenced investigation of the incident, while urging all Divisional Police Officers in the state to take strong measures in the control of youth from going about with deadly equipment, such as knives, cutlasses and other dangerous objects that can be used in fighting or any lawful gatherings.(Dailypost)
