The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a young man alleged to be involved in a cult group fight that led to the death of two people.

The fight is said to have turned bloody on Friday morning after the other group launched a reprisal.

Another person reportedly got killed in today’s fight, bringing the casualties to two.

The development is said to have stirred fears among traders in the Obafemi Local Government community as many of them refused to open shops on Friday.

It was gathered that the people of the community on Friday morning woke up to find a corpse around Mowe.

We are being careful. Many of us are yet to open our shops. Everywhere is scanty. Two people were killed at Adesan and Onibode junction,” one of the traders reportedly told security men during the investigation.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said one person had been arrested in connection with the clash.

According to him, the police in Ogun State have commenced investigations to unravel the cause of the melee.

While saying normalcy has been restored in the area, Oyeyemi urged residents to go about their normal businesses.
