Tinubu Invites Shekarau To A Closed-Door Meeting Amidst Reported Plan To Join PDP

The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has invited the lawmaker representing Kano Central senatorial district, Ibrahim Shekarau, to a closed-door meeting in Abuja.

Tinubu is expected to meet with the former Governor of Kano State in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.

A source that spoke with DailyNigerian disclosed that Tinubu plans to woo Shekarau into the party during the meeting.

This is coming after reports revealed that Shekarau had reached a deal with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar to join the party.

Naija News had earlier reported that Atiku wooed the former governor with a mouth-watering position.

A source that spoke on Tinubu’s plan to woo Shekarau to APC said, the presidential candidate had earlier met with Shekarau on August 8, but no agreement was reached.

The source further stated that though Shekarau has agreed to join the PDP, the former governor has summoned his political advisory council, the Shura Consultative Assembly, to advise him on the development.

The council is expected to report today and the decision would be announced within the week.
