‘This One Go Slap ADC For Office’

Former Senator and spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign, Dino Melaye has denied being provocative against the presidential candidate of the Labour party at the debate organized for presidential candidates.

Naija News reports that Peter Obi got angry on Sunday and lashed out at Dino Melaye at the presidential town hall Series in Abuja organized by the Centre for Democracy and Development and Arise Television.

In a video on Sunday, the LP presidential candidate was seen exchanging words with Melaye, who was on the entourage of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

During the event, Obi lost his cool after Melaye described his supporters as ‘noisemakers’ while interrupting the former Anambra State governor’s speech with snide remarks and gestures.

Obi said: “I won’t take this. That colonel is an NNPP person, and you’re saying it’s Obi People. Dino, please stop that!

“I have taken enough from you here. Why are you always calling me?”

However, speaking about the incident, Melaye via a video shared on social media on Monday expressed shock over Peter Obi’s outburst.

Melaye noted that he was not provocative and did not understand why the LP flag bearer lashed at him.

He added that Obi displayed an unpresidential characteristic with such public mannerisms.

He stressed that there was no way Obi would have heard anything he said as he was seated at the far end of the podium.

He, then listed all the qualities a leader who wants to govern the nation must possess, saying that a leader such as Peter Obi will slap his ADC when provoked and unfit to lead the country.
