Former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri has said that the 2023 election has made him realize that Nigerian Muslims are more tolerant than Nigerian Christians.
Reno noted that if Obi had won the election and Imams were the ones making the comments some pastors are making, Nigeria would have been on Fire.
Speaking via his Instagram page, Omokri expressed his disappointment over pastors actions. He urged them to learn from the Sultan of Sokoto who never took sides before and after the election.
He wrote, “The #NigerianElections2023 made me realise that Nigerian Muslims are often more tolerant than Nigerian Christians. Because if Peter Obi had been declared President-elect by INEC and imams start saying the types of things some pastors are saying, Nigeria will be on fire! And if this was coming from neutral pastors, who sought an impartial process, it may even be understandable.
“But this is coming from heavily compromised and politicised male and female pastors, who used their pulpits and churches to campaign for a particular candidate. Learn from the Sultan of Sokoto. He never took sides before and after the election! That is Christlike religious leadership. Nigeria has taught me that you don’t have to be a Christian to be Christlike.’’
