President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina, has been attacked again by terrorists.

The gunmen according to reports, killed two men of the Nigerian Army in the recent ambush.

Naija News learnt that the terrorists had planted an Improvised Explosive Device on a route where the troops of the Nigerian army were to pass.

According to SaharaReporters, the deadly device exploded on a patrol vehicle conveying the troops and immediately killed two personnel.

Other soldiers are said to have sustained various degrees of injuries from the ambush.

The deceased were identified as Salami Dare (12NA/68/5958) and Hayatudeen Armayau (18NA/77/0055).

Naija News learnt that the soldiers were on a special operation at Kaiga community when one of their vehicles stepped over the planted IED.

It added: “The KIA and the WIA were evacuated to BMC Katsina. The EOD was drafted to the area to scan, however, no other IED was found.”

Katsina State has witnessed an unimaginable number of attacks by bandits and kidnappers in recent times.
