Teni breaks silence amid insinuations of disrespecting Buhari during her National Honour conferment

Nigerian songstress, Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni has broken her silence after receiving a National Honour on Tuesday, 11th October which was duly presented to her by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

Teni, TuBaba, Burna Boy alongside a host of others were nominated for the national honours.

However, the singer came under fire due to the manner she collected the award from Buhari which some claimed was disrespectful.

Amid the brouhahas especially on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, Teni took to her Instagram handle where she shared a clearer video of herself receiving the award from the president which seemingly rules out claims of disrespect.

The video was also accompanied by a message of appreciation to God, the president, and her family.

She wrote:
