Ten Hag Blames Players Over Poor Performance

Ten Hag Blames ‘Stupid’ United Performance After Villa Defeat

Erik ten Hag has criticised Manchester United’s players for their poor performance after being defeated by Aston Villa.

Only two weeks after removing Cristiano Ronaldo from the team, the Dutch manager gave him the captain’s armband, only to witness his club suffer their first league loss in six games, keeping them outside the top four.

Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne scored early goals to put Unai Emery’s men ahead of united in what seems to have been the game-decider.

Luke Shaw, on the other hand, raised optimism for the Red devils before the break but after the interval, Jacob struck a two-goal advantage for Villa

The Dutch manager while speaking after the game, said, “Collectively it was a bad performance,

“When we are out our best, we start the game on the front foot and ready to play. We were not and we did not deserve any more than we got.

“It was stupid to try to cross the ball in the way we did, too quickly and from too far out, with too much force. We have to cross at the right moment. In the second half, we were too quick to cross.

‘We lost the game at the start of the first half and second half and that is not acceptable.”
