Tanzanian fashion designer accuses former US official of stealing her luggage in 2018; shares proof

A Tanzanian fashion designer, Asya Khamsi, who is based in Texas, has accused former US Department of Energy official, Sam Brinton, of stealing her suitcase in 2018. According to Asya, she reported her missing luggage to authorities but it was never recovered. She recently saw a report that Brinton had been arrested for stealing multiple pieces of luggage across the country, prompting her to conduct a personal investigation. Asya claims to have discovered several photos of Brinton wearing what appears to be her clothes. She alleges that Brinton has been pictured wearing her custom-made outfits on different occasions since her luggage went missing from Washington DC airport on March 9, 2018.

Asya took to Twitter to share side-by-side photos of herself wearing her outfits next to photos of Brinton wearing what appears to be the same outfits. She also posted evidence of her reporting the theft to airport authorities. Asya claims that Brinton has been wearing her clothes for five years and has used them to further his career. She has called on Brinton to return her clothes and apologize.

The photos posted by Asya show Brinton wearing several pieces of clothing, including a blazer, dress, and trousers, which appear to be identical to those that she designs. Asya’s custom-made outfits are unique and tailored to fit the client’s measurements, making them easily identifiable.

Brinton has not yet responded to the allegations. Asya has reported the incident to the authorities and is currently seeking legal advice.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many people expressing their support for Asya and calling for justice to be served. The case highlights the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions and the consequences of stealing from others, especially in a professional setting.
