Stats are Misleading! Waldrum defends Super Falcons’ Poor Run

Super Falcons Head Coach Randy Waldrum has defended the team’s last six results, insisting statistics are completely misleading.

The Falcons have lost their last six matches in all competition, including a defeat against Mexico on Thursday, in an invitational tournament.

Waldrum has come under heavy scrutiny from the media following the poor run, with many calling for his dismissal.

In a chat with NFF TV, the American however says, his team lost to the best in world, adding that the losses have no impact on the progress of the team.

“Well I’m disappointed that we lost, but I don’t gauge where we are now. the stat is completely misleading, because if you look back on those matches we played, they are against the best in the world”

“We played twice against the US, we played two matches against Olympics Champions, Canada.

“We won one of those games and drew the other, then we flew to Japan which is another top five team in world before coming here to Mexico.

“So there are so many teams around the world that’ll lose to those teams. I think if you put it in the level of perspective of teams we have been playing. It’s against teams who have been together all time, US, Canada, Japan, their players are together all the time.

“My job is to make our players understand that and don’t feel dejected or down about those performances.

“We are to use those games as preparations to get better. Again, we want to win and I don’t want anyone to misunderstand that,” He concluded.
