Shehu Sani Reacts As NDLEA Burst Biggest Cocaine Warehouse In Nigeria

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to the seizure of 1.8 tonnes of cocaine worth N194 billion in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Naija News earlier reported that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had in a statement on Monday said the burst is the biggest singular cocaine seizure in the agency’s history.

The agency, in the statement issued by its spokesman, Femi Babafemi, stated that five people were arrested including the warehouse manager and a Jamaican identified as Kelvin Smith.

According to the NDLEA, the suspects are part of an international drug syndicate that the agency has been trailing since 2018.

The agency said the warehouse was raided on Sunday 18th September 2022, while the suspects were picked from hotels and their hideouts in different parts of Lagos between Sunday night and Monday 19th September.

Reacting to the burst in a tweet via his Twitter page on Tuesday, Senator Sani said the burst by the NDLEA has shown that the country is becoming a major hub for hard drugs.

The former lawmaker commended the NDLEA for conducting the biggest singular cocaine seizure in its history, saying that the agency has returned back to life under its new boss, Buba Marwa.

He wrote: “The bursted Cocaine Warehouse in Lagos showed that the country is becoming a major hub for hard drugs. The @ndlea_nigeria action is commendable. Since the late General Bamaiyi, the agency has returned back to life under its new Boss, Marwa.
