Serie A: Juventus speak on sacking Paul Pogba

Juventus has reacted to the report that they are on the verge of terminating the contract of former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The struggling Serie A giants said that they are not planning on terminating the France international since the player’s only problem is the injury he is recovering from.

Juventus Chief Football Officer, Francesco Calvo made the denial despite rumours that they were considering the move.

Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United when his contract with the Premier League giants expired at the end of last season, but things have not gone well at all back in Italy.

The Frenchman has not played any game for Juventus since his return to Italy after suffering a serious knee injury in the summer.

Due to his huge wages and non-existent contribution to the first team, rumours swirled that the Old Lady were considering letting him go. His current deal runs until 2026.

Calvo, who responded to the rumours, however, ruled out Pogba being cut loose, insisting that he is set for a first team return soon.

“We are not planning to terminate Pogba’s contract, I can deny these stories,” Calvo said, via Fabrizio Romano.

“He’s an important player for us, the injuries are part of the game but Paul is training well and we wait for him.”

Juve sit 10th in Serie A, already 30 points behind league-leaders Napoli.
