Collectif Ultras Paris’ president, Romain Mabille, has spoken about the Ligue1 fans’ harsh treatment of Neymar.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar moved to France in a record-breaking fee in 2017 and reportedly lobbied for a return to his former club, Barcelona just after two years.
And this angered fans in Ligue1 who considered that act as that of a traitor and booed the player loudly at the Parc des Princes.
Mabille spoke to France Bleu Paris on the incident, admitting that the Brazilian was shown much love when he first arrived in France but appeared to have taken their love for granted.
“It’s true that the banner that insulted his mother was harsh. We have been harsh. The thing is, people gave him so much love in the beginning.
“We must give the PSG players the best possible conditions for them to give their all. Neymar is an affection-driven player; we could have had a different relationship with him,” he said.
