Pretty Court Inspector Shot By Kidnappers, Dies

Odera Onumajulu, a customary court inspector, who sustained gunshot injuries during a kidnap attack has reportedly died.

Naija News reports that Onumajulu was kidnapped in front of her residence in Owerri, Imo state, on May 22.

She was said to have died on Wednesday, June 22 after medical personnel battled for one month to save her life, according to The Punch.

Speaking about her demise, the secretary of the NBA, Owerri branch, Chinedu Agu, said the branch was saddened by the death of Onumajulu.

He said, “Before the ugly incident, Onumajulu was a customary court inspector attached to the customary court of appeal, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016.

“It is very sad how another colleague has become a victim in the ravaging insecurity in Imo”

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen have reportedly burnt two tractors and abducted 22 farmers in Abuja.

The dire incident occurred at Rafin-Daji community, Gurdi ward of Abaji Area Council of Abuja.

Saidu Yakubu, a farmer who escaped, told Daily Trust that the incident happened around 2pm on Thursday.

He said that the bandits who were armed with AK -47 rifles attacked farmers cultivating their lands in the community.

He stated further that the bandits shot into the air before whisking away the farmers and also burning two tractors in a large farm.

According to him, 13 family members were among the 22 abducted victims.
