Popular Relationship Expert, Derrick Jaxn, has announced a split from his wife barely a year after he publicly apologized for cheating on her.
Naija News recalls that the 33-year-old influencer made headlines in 2021 when a cheating scandal emerged after building his career on giving relationship advice.
A woman named Candice De Medeiros publicly revealed she has been having an affair with Jaxn, who is known for his YouTube channel, books about relationships, and over one million Instagram followers.
Jaxn admitted to the adultery and apologized to his wife.
We Decided To Go Our Separate Ways
However, Jaxn on Saturday, December 10, 2022, took to his Instagram page to announce his marriage crash stating that his family have gone through changes for several months.
According to him, filing for divorce from his wife was one of the hardest decisions in his life but he has found peace knowing that their mission of raising healthy children is still being accomplished.
He further called for prayers to enable them to navigate the grieving process and urged that people should respect their privacy.
He wrote: “Over the past several months, my family and I have gone through many changes. Some of you have speculated while others of you have reached out to offer support as we privately established this new normal for ourselves and our beautiful children.
“Earlier this year after much prayer, counselling, and deep consideration, we decided to go our separate ways and filed for divorce. Making the decision to file was one of the hardest decisions of my life, but I’ve found peace knowing that our mission of raising healthy children, starting with healthy and whole parents is still being accomplished.
“From falling in love as just teenagers to becoming spouses and now co-parents, I’m grateful for the years we’ve spent together and wouldn’t trade them for anything. I was blessed to have such an amazing person in my life and will forever be thankful for all she’s meant to our family.
“We ask that if you pray, to please pray for us as we navigate this grieving process. If not, please respect our privacy”
