Police Nab Three Suspects For Plucking Teenager's In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of three suspects involved in the plucking of the eye of a 16-year-old boy in the state days ago.

Naija News recalls that one Uzairu Salisu was found in the pool of his blood four days ago at Dutsen Jira of Yelwa area in Bauchi State.

The teenager’s eyeballs were gouged out in a horror manner by the criminals led by a friend who deceived him to the bush in the guise of offering him some menial job.

The disgusting incident was confirmed to newsmen on Friday by the Bauchi State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil.

The officer had told reporters that one Ibrahim of Rafin Zurfi whom the victim had known for some time lured him to the bush for a menial job on his farm where he committed the horrific crime.

The command’s mouthpiece said the force has since commenced an investigation into the gruesome act to arrest the perpetrators.

Reports reaching Naija News today confirmed that three people have been arrested in connection with the crime.

In the report, Wakil confirmed that the prime suspect, Isaac Ezekiel, 32, from Rafin Zurfi in the Bauchi metropolis, had been arrested.

He said the suspect had since confessed to having hand in the horror act. Wakili said that other suspects had also been arrested in connection with the crime.

He gave their names as 38-year-old Nensok Bawa and Yohana Luka, 52, popularly called Doctor Samu.

The personnel further revealed that operatives were able to recover the removed eyeballs in a calabash following a prompt search of the prime suspect’s house.

He said that the operatives also recovered a cable wire used in perpetrating the act and a travelling bag, containing some charms.

“Our findings revealed that in April, the prime suspect conspired with the two others to conceive the idea to commit the atrocity of getting the eyeballs of a human being.

“On June 24, at about 0900hrs, the principal suspect lured the victim into a nearby bush for a casual job on his farm.

“He then used a cable wire to strangle him until he fell into a coma. Thereafter, he used a knife to remove the boy’s two eyes for ritual purposes.

“Investigation is still in progress, after which the suspects will be charged to court,”  Wakil reiterated the incident in the statement released on Tuesday morning.

He said that the Commissioner of Police had charged the command’s operatives to remain fierce, tireless and relentless in their fight against crime and criminality in the state.
