PDP Is At It Again – Uzodinma Speaks On Budgeting N10bn For Abba Kyari’s Release

2023: Zoning Is Not Constitutional, Nigeria Needs Merit And Competence - Uzodinma

The Imo state government has reacted to alleged reports of the state Governor, Hope Uzodinma budgeting the sum of N10bn for the release of embattled suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, while speaking to Journalists on Tuesday in Owerri said there was no truth to the rumor.

The commissioner insisted that the rumor was being purported by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party whose aim was to smear the public image of the Governor.

He argued that it was, “lame, incoherent and illogical propaganda concocted by the lucifer-infested social media outfit of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former governor of the state to shoot down the popularity of the Governor.”

Emelumba who refused to name the individual behind the news said, “The former Governor who is smarting from the backlash of his saboteur comments against Ndigbo wants to divert attention from his irredeemably damaged image with the fake Abba Kyari story.”

Emelumba said that the report could be compared to another fake news planted by the PDP which alleged that Uzodinma was planning  to rename Imo state University after the late Chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari.

The commissioner explained that the governor’s administration is an upholder of the rule of law and could not have declared Abba Kyari innocent of the charges against him when that job belongs exclusively to the judiciary.

He said, “It is also ridiculous to impute that the governor was budgeting N10b for the release of Abba Kyari when everyone knows how prudent and accountable His Excellency is with the resources of the state.”
