Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including other young and former presidential aspirants, will meet in Abuja on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, Naija News learnt.

The Director of Communications for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu and the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, are among those expected to grace the political roundtable.

The convener of the programme, Nicolas Felix, revealed in a statement made available to reporters on Monday that the meeting will bother on youth participation in elections, and most importantly, governance ahead of the 2023 elections.

The APC’s youngest presidential aspirant observed that over time, the youths are used by top political bigwigs during elections but are eventually dumped after elections.

A former aspirant of the APC, Tein Jack-Rich and a number of young politicians would also attend the meeting in Abuja.

Giving further details, Felix who is also the Deputy Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, said the roundtable meeting would take place at Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja at 11.00 am tomorrow.

Other notable young politicians expected at the event include former presidential aspirant of the APC, Adamu Garba; Labour Party’s senatorial candidate, Eragbe Anslem; former Deputy Governor of Central Bank and presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress, Kingsley Moghalu; Sowore, and presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress, Ahmed Buhari.

“The special roundtable discussion will bother on youth participation in elections, and most importantly, governance ahead of the 2023 elections. We have observed that youths are used during elections but forgotten after elections.

“As former candidates and aspirants, we want to join forces together to ensure we have youth ministers and head of parastatals and much more.

“All of us will speak during the open session with media and youths. We will also have a private session to discuss the way forward and before the election, we will adopt one of the candidates who agree to our terms and ensure the youth vote for him,” The PUNCH quoted Felix in the statement.
