Pastor Trying To Emulate Jesus' Resurrection Dies

A 22-year-old pastor of Christian Zion Church in the Aambian town of Chidza in Zambia, James Sakara, was found dead three days after asking to be buried alive in other to emulate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sakara, who was reportedly overconfident of his faith in Christ, convinced his congregation that he could come back to life after three days, just like the son of God.

In trying to explain his decision to his flock, the young pastor, who was also a practitioner of traditional medicine, was said to have quoted the scripture, saying that on the eve of his murder by Roman soldiers, Jesus words to his disciples, ”do this memory of me” referred to the resurrection and not just imbibing wine and crunching unleavened bread.

He somehow got three members of his church to assist him by digging a shallow grave, tying up his hands, and burying him alive, but instead of coming back to life after three days, Sakara was found dead by members who came back to the grave and were curious to see why their leader hadn’t fulfilled his promise.

Upon seeing their leaders’s lifeless body, some members of the church attempted a series of ”spiritual exercise’ in order to resurrect him, but to no avail.

Daily Times reports that most members of Sakara’s church were reluctant to let him go through with his stunt, let alone aid him, but eventually, three men came forward to assist the pastor with the burial. One of them came forward, and two are currently wanted by police.
