Our Votes Will Determine Tinubu’s Victory In 2023

'Shaky Shaky Daddy' - Reactions As Tinubu Calls Himself A Youth

The North-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that voter turnout from the region will determine who the next president of Nigeria will be, Naija News reports.

It said that the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, deserves all the support needed to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2023 poll.

APC Director Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), North-West, Aminu Jaji, said yesterday (Thursday) that the former governor of Lagos State played a vital role in ensuring Buhari’s victory in the 2015 and 2019 elections, hence, deserved a returned favour.

Naija News reports that Jaji stated this during the inauguration of the party’s committee in Abuja. The APC chieftain expressed confidence that Tinubu would defeat his opponents to win the 2023 presidential poll.

About the 2015 and 2019 election results, Jaji believes APC would coast to victory due to its popularity.

He said: “The best thing that we can do in 2023 is to pay back to Tinubu, who supported our son, President Buhari, to be president twice.

“It is time to pay back what the other zone did for our son; a father and a role model, President Buhari.

“It is time to give support to Tinubu unconditionally, but with conditions that he is going to make Northern Nigeria most especially, great.’

Jaji boasted that the Northwest has the most populated state, Kano State, which is currently an APC domain.

While urging committee members to work assiduously to achieve victory at all levels for APC candidates, Jaji tasked them to take Tinubu’s manifesto to the grassroots, adding that there was a lot of work to be done if the party must deliver its presidential candidate at the 2023 election.

Kwankwaso’s Purported Popularity Cannot Affect Tinubu’s Fortune In The North

Giving her remarks at the event, the committee’s Assistant Secretary, Dr Talatu Nasir, played down the fear that the popularity of former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, may affect Tinubu’s victory in the region.

According to her, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate would not affect APC’s chances in the region.

She said: “Kwankwaso’s purported popularity will not affect the fortunes of Asiwaju Tinubu in the region and in the northern parts generally.

“This committee has already drawn up a campaign modality and strategy that will give us electoral victory as we deliver Tinubu come 2023.

“In the Northwest, we will make a bold statement when the time comes that Bola Tinubu is our candidate,’’ she stressed.
