Obi Group Fixes Date To Hold 4million-man Rally In Lagos

Supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, have disobeyed the order of the Lagos State Police Command not to hold a rally at the Lekki toll gate.

Naija News gathered that hundreds of youths in their numbers at the Lekki toll gate holding the Independent Day rally against police orders.

It will be recalled that NaijaNews reported that there was a court order that directed supporters of Obi not to hold the rally at the Lekki toll gate.

Some supporters of the Labour Party, according to available reports, were seen marching through, apple junction,  Festac and environs in the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos.

Meanwhile, ‘Take Back Naija’, a coalition of support groups, said that the Federal High Court in the state didn’t stop the March, as they got permission to go ahead and conduct the march.

The Co-ordinator of the group, Martins Udegbunam at a press conference on Friday said the court instructed Obi supporters not to converge at the Tollgate but they can pass through the gate.

took the opportunity to invite everyone to join the march at any of the three locations across Lagos, Festac, Federal Housing Authority(FHA), Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 and Arch Bishop Vin Church, Ikeja.

Our march is legal and constitutional, it is within the electoral time frame and calendar released by INEC and all security agencies have been duly and formally informed using the appropriate means. The police, NSCDC, Road safety, and DSS, will be on ground to provide security as we march,” he added.
