Nuban Beauty joins in the fight against period poverty

Nuban Beauty joins in the fight against period poverty

In Africa, 1 in 10 young girls miss school on their periods due to a lack of sanitary pads or out of shame of being embarrassed.

Every year since 2018, Nuban Beauty, one of Nigeria’s foremost makeup brands, has given back to society. For this year’s CSR, Nuban Beauty collaborated with Safety For Every Girl, a non-profit organization focused on eliminating period poverty in marginalized communities to ensure that young girls experience safe and dignified menstrual periods.

Young girls should not have to resort to using unsanitary products such as socks, random clothes, or tissue paper among other unsafe products to manage their periods. Such practices limit their access to education, expose them to infections, and damage their confidence.

To this effect, Nuban Beauty in partnership with Safety For Every Girl has launched a limited collection of makeup products called Ultra on July 25, 2022. They have pledged to giving 50% of all proceeds from the sales of the Ultra products into the provision of reusable sanitary pads.

For every woman who uses the Ultra products, a young girl is being provided with a reusable sanitary pad.

The new ULTRA Collectionconsists of 4 amazing products:

• ULTRA Eyeshadow & Blush Palette

• ULTRA Liquid Lipstick (16 shades)

• ULTRA Lip pencils (10 shades)

Indeed, this awesome initiative is a step in the right direction. Together, we can put an end period poverty.
