NPFL promotion: Oyo ex-commissioner-Fakorede celebrates 3SC

Fakorede said in a statement on Monday that 3SC’s victory was worth celebrating.

He hailed the team and the coaching crew for the feat, and urged them to continue to work harder to make the team one of the best in Africa, like they used to be. He said, “3SC has been playing in the second tier of Nigerian football league, the Nigerian National League, since 2017. “But the intervention of the Seyi Makinde-led administration in sports activities in Oyo State has, however, resuscitated the fading glory of 3SC.

“This is a great moment to be a supporter of the Oluyole Warriors. Indeed, they have proved to be a great team and their eventual success is a great accolade for the present administration in Oyo State.”

The former commissioner said while in office, he supervised most of the activities, which included, the renovation of 3SC home ground, the Lekan Salami Stadium, timely payment of allowances and salaries.

In another event, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has praised the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) for securing the long-awaited promotion to the elite Nigerian Premier Football League. Taiwo Adisa, Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary, in statement, praised the doggedness and resilience of the 3SC players and coaching crew who presented a golden gift to the people of Oyo State.

“We are sincerely happy to see our darling team, 3SC back where it belongs; the Nigerian Premier Football League.
“It gladdens my heart that the feat is achieved just a few days after we unveiled the remodelled, world-class Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, the befitting home of the Shooting Stars.

“I rejoice with the good people of Oyo State on this wonderful achievement by our darling team and especially the return of good football to Ibadan. “Surely, the government of Oyo State will ensure that the players and technical crew are rewarded for bringing us this joyful moment,”Makinde stated.
