Nollywood Actor Discloses Reason Soludo Hugged Peter Obi During Thanksgiving Mass

Nollywood actor, Ikechukwu Onunaku has waded into the the drama between the Governor of Anambra state, Charles Soludo and the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Naija News recalls that Soludo in an article titled, ‘History Beckons and I Will Not Be Silent’ stated that Obi did not stand a chance in the 2023 election.

According to him, “Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too; and he knows that we know,” the article reads in part.

“The game he is playing is the main reason he didn’t return to APGA. The brutal truth (and some will say, God forbid) is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama!”

The Anambra Governor’s statement was greeted with a lot of backlash from Obi’s supporters.

However, during a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in honor of Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor’s 70th birthday, Soludo got up from his seat and walked towards Obi before they shared pleasantries and embraced.

Reacting to the development, Onunaku said that it is possible that the backlash from critics triggered Soludo’s gesture towards Obi

He wrote: “I’m thinking, possibly, the backlash from the statement or the need for the end of it encouraged that.”
