The PUNCH: Violence erupted in some parts of Sokoto metropolis on Saturday when some Muslim youths trooped to the streets to demand the release of the two suspects arrested in connection with the killing and setting ablaze of a 200-level female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah Samuel, over alleged blasphemy.


The Guardian: Violence broke out in some parts of Sokoto State yesterday as protesters, mostly Muslim faithful, took to the streets to protest the arrest of suspects involved in the killing and burning of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, on Thursday, over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed (SAW).


This Day: The apex regulator of Nigeria’s capital market, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has issued fresh guidelines on the issuance and custody of digital assets in the country, a move that could bolster the adoption of cryptos in the country.

Sunday Independent: Amid the shocking decision of the Na­tional Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to throw open the pres­idential ticket, there are hints that some party leaders in the South are considering the op­tion of reaching a consensus in order to garner southern block vote and clinch the ticket for an aspirant from the South.
