Nashville SC unveil details about MLS NEXT Pro team: Hunstville City FC

Nashville SC have released the details for their brand new MLS NEXT Pro team.

To be known as Huntsville City FC, the team will begin play in Major League Soccer’s development league – which is officially recognized as an American third-tier division – in 2023.

As part of the public event held in Huntsville’s Mars Music Hall on Thursday, Nashville also revealed HCFC’s crest and color scheme.

The crest is inspired by Huntsville’s longstanding association with the space industry, including NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Missile Defense Agency, Army Space and Rocket Command, and more. Club colors are an inverted version of Nashville SC’s, with electric gold set against acoustic blue.

“We are really excited to finally share our team’s identity with the City of Huntsville and the world,” said Majority Owner John Ingram. “The energy and partnership we have experienced in Huntsville is remarkable and we couldn’t imagine a better place for Huntsville City FC to be.”

HCFC will play at the newly-renovated, 6,000-capacity Joe W. Davies minor league Baseball Stadium and will be joined as newcomers in MLS NEXT Pro by clubs associated with Atlanta United, Austin FC, Charlotte FC, LA Galaxy, LAFC, and the New York Red Bulls.
