Lagos: Drama As Rape Suspect Flees Court

An Abuja-based businesswoman, Eucharia Uzo, has prayed to a customary court in Nyanya to separate her marriage to one Obi Uzo.

In her petition, Eucharia said she cannot endure the troubles at Uzo’s house any longer as the latter has vowed never to allow her to become wealthier than he is.

According to her, Uzo recently sent thieves to burgle her shop and whisked away her goods, leaving her in pain.

Naija News understands that the petitioner who resides in Abacha road made the assertions in a divorce petition she filed against her husband in court on Friday.

“My husband vowed that I will never be greater than him under his roof, that was the reason why he stopped my business of mineral, snacks and recharge cards.

“Then my father gave me money to start a foodstuff business, my husband sent thieves to burgle my shop and they made away with all my goods. One of them later confessed that my husband sent them,” Eucharia reportedly said at the court.

She begged the court to dissolve the marriage and free her from the bondage called marriage.

However, the respondent who is said to be a mechanic denied the allegations against him by his wife at the court.

Uzo urged the court to grant the petitioner divorce.

The presiding Judge, Shitta Mohammed, however, adjourned the matter until Sept. 22 for judgment.

The Osun State police command on Friday paraded one Adamo Aliyu and four others arrested for robbery and murder in Osogbo, the state capital.

Naija News reports that the suspect, his friend, Yusuf Idris and three others were paraded for allegedly conspiring with others and killing a petrol station manager, Fatai Adigun at Aku Area of Ikire.

The 24-year-old revealed that Idris’s father contracted them to kill the petrol station manager.

He further stated that the person who hired them paid N250,000.

Aliyu while narrating the event said, “I have lost count of the number of people I have killed. We have also snatched several motorcycles around Ikire. We usually sell to other communities. I must have killed more than 10 people.

“I work with Yusuf Idris. His father contracted us to kill the man. I was told a woman gave him the job. We went to the petrol station early in the morning and met the man there. My friend, Idris, hit him with a weapon on the head and he died.

“We stole N100, 000 there and fled. After selling motorcycles that we snatched, I made over N1.5m but I squandered it on food, dresses and Indian hemp.”
