Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Christians Have To Protect Osinbajo

Osinbajo: Buhari’s Aide Reacts As VP Declares For 2023 Presidency

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Tomide Akinribid, has called on Nigerians to protect Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo for reportedly refusing to be part of Bola Tinubu’s campaign council.

Naija News recall that Osinabjo’s name was missing from the list of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which was released on Friday.

Reacting to the reactions that trailed Osinbajo’s name from the list, the council stated that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered that the Vice President and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, be left out.

The spokesman, Festus Keyamo said that Buhari gave the order to ensure that the duo are not distracted from their primary duty of governance.

Reacting to the development via a post on Twitter, Akinribido alleged that the APC were trying to cover up the true situation because of the backlash over its same faith ticket.

He wondered why the two top government officials Buhari excused are Christians.

He said, “Is it a coincidence that the top two Christians in the government and party hierarchy, Vice-President and SGF, are excluded from the campaign council of a rejected Muslim-Muslim ticket?

“The Christian community must stand in solidarity with Osinbajo and reject the disastrous APC Muslim-Muslim ticket.”

The PDP chieftain praised Osinbanjo for refusing to participate in Tinubu’s campaign council as he noted that such a descusion takes a lot of courage.

He called on Nigerians to ensure that the VP is protected.

VP Osinbajo was approached to play a prominent role in the APC campaign team, especially among the Christian community.

“He declined and stated that he cannot do such in good conscience. Whether Laolu Akande debunks this does not matter. Prof himself knows this is this is the truth,” he added.
