More Details Of Tinubu’s Deal With G-5 Governors Emerge

Atiku: Details Emerge As Wike, Makinde, Ugwuanyi, Ikpeazu, Ortom Meet In Benue

More details of the deal struck between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the five aggrieved Governors of the People Democratic Party (PDP) have emerged.

The five aggrieved governors include; Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

Tinubu and the five governors had on Wednesday met in the United Kingdom at the London residence of the APC presidential candidate where a deal to work together for the 2023 presidency was struck, Naija News reports.

Those in attendance include Governor of Jigawa State, Badaru Abubakar, and former governor of Ekiti State, John Kayode Fayemi, who are chieftains of the ruling party and Tinubu’s allies.

But according to Vangaurd, Tinubu struck a deal in principle with the five PDP governors while acting on the confidence of the ruling party’s structure and geo-political spread.

A source privy to the deal disclosed that an agreement was signed, sealed and waiting for delivery before the PDP governors will announce Tinubu as their preferred presidential candidate in January 2023.

He said that part of the deal is that the APC candidate will not make any financial commitment to the the party’s candidates whose positions are being sacrificed for the G-5 governors.

The source added that as part of the deal, Tinubu would deflate his party’s campaign in the respective states to accommodate the interests of the G-5.

The source said: “Having considered the odds, G-5, I can tell you, have cast their lot with Asiwaju.

“Agreement is signed, sealed and waiting for delivery.

“As part of the deal, Asiwaju is to deflate his party’s campaign in the respective states to accommodate the interests of the G-5. We all know that Asiwaju is APC, and APC is Asiwaju.

“The APC is to concede positions of G-5 interests as follows: Rivers, governorship seat; Abia, Abia South Senate; Enugu, Governor Ugwuanyi’s Senate seat; Benue, Governor Ortom’s Senate seat; Oyo, governorship seat for Makinde.”
