Two men in Adamawa State have killed a tricycle driver, Algoni Goni of Uba by administering an overdose of pentalin injection on him.

The suspects, Habu Badiru, 27 and Auwal Lawan, 26, who are medicine vendors confessed to killing the deceased, in Adamawa State with an overdose of  pentalin and thereafter stealing his tricycle.

The suspects stated that they committed  the crime on March 4 and dumped his corpse in a river in Uba, Hong LGA.

While being paraded at the police headquarters in Adamawa State on Wednesday, they told newsmen that they committed the crime because Habu needed N100,000 to settle a debt.

Going into the details, Lawan said that they boarded the tricycle to the house of Algoni where he and Habu held him down and injected him with the pentalin. After the  injection they strangled him and deposited his body in a river

Habu then took the tricycle to Mubi to sell. However, things became tricky as no one wanted to buy the vehicle without particulars.

The suspect said he took the tricycle to Mubi the second time the following morning to sell it, and that while in Mubi, he had to call someone from Uba, and that on arrival, the person asked how he (Habu) got the tricycle since he is a patent medicine vendor.

The person became suspicious and called the police which resulted to them being arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident and said that the suspects would be charged to court.
