Mathias Falk slams Super Eagles and Hertha Berlin winger Chidera Ejuke for dribbling and no goals and assists

The Super Eagles winger has settled well into life at the Berlin-based club, having featured in all four competitive matches that the club has played this season.

However, Ejuke is yet to contribute neither a goal nor an assist to the Hertha Berlin cause despite playing 211 minutes of football for the German club already.

It is this lack of goals and/or assists that has drawn a strong reaction from German journalist Falk who covers Hertha Berlin, with the journalist expecting some end product from the Super Eagles winger.

Falk told owngoalnigeria: “There is a player in him that can’t be disputed. He however need to do more in terms of goals and assists. I have watched him four times and he is all about getting past his man, which isn’t bad but modern day football frowns at excessive dribbling.”

Falk also highlighted Ejuke’s track record at Russian club CSKA Moscow, pointing out that the Nigerian international has not hit great numbers in terms of goals and assists despite spending two years in the Russian Premier League.

The German journalist further admonished the Nigerian international to utilise his talent as well as improve his game as quick as possible.

“Going back to his stat at CSKA Moscow he had ten goals in two years in over 50 games and not up to five assists,” Falk lamented.

“This isn’t good for a player of his talent and my hope is for him to come good. He has what it takes but he has to grow up quick.”

Ejuke will be hoping to stop a four-month goal drought when Hertha Berlin host Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, August 27 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
