Manchester United are looking to sell their captain, Harry Maguire to raise funds for the club.

Naija News recalls that the Englishman has fallen out of Erik Ten Hag’s favour as he was unable to make the starting lineup this season.

Since being selected for the Red Devil’s 4-0 loss at Brentford and the 2-1 loss to Brighton the center-back has only started one game for Ten Hag.

The Stopper, aside from being preferred to Victor Lindelof in the 3-1 loss to Aston Villa, has been replaced by Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

The 29-year-old has become the fourth choice defender for the Dutch manager, and has tentatively lost his captaincy to Bruno Fernandes, who has capped the club more than the Englishman.

However, Just less than a day after he made Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for World Cup, the news will be an enormous blow for the English man.

Maguire made a switch from Leicester to Manchester United in the 2019-20 season and has since then made 153 appearances scoring 7 goals.

The Guardian reports that United will consider offers for their captain to help pay for Ten Hag’s squad’s ongoing transformation,

However, the club might have to accept a significant loss on the £80 million spent on Maguire in August 2019.

Maguire might not be the only name leaving this summer, according to rumors, as Ten Hag is reportedly planning to let Fred leave when his contract expires in 2023.
