Makinde to announce new Olubadan Monday

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has mentioned that he’ll announce the brand new Olubadan of Ibadan land on Monday.

Makinde made this recognized on Saturday.

He spoke on the 40-day funeral reception for the fast previous Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji.

Current on the occasion included Deputy Governor of the state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, former Governor of the state, Senator Rasidi Ladoja and Senator representing Oyo South, Dr. Kola Balogun amongst others.

Our correspondent recollects that Oba Adetunji joined his ancestors on Sunday 2nd January 2022.

The place of the Olubadan has been vacant since then.

Makinde has, nonetheless, mentioned he’ll announce the brand new Olubadan on Monday after receiving a letter from the Olubadan-in-Council.

He mentioned that the Ibadan conventional system is a reference for different cities, villages and cities within the nation to emulate attributable to its democratic nature.

“I’ve obtained a letter from the Olubadan-in-Council.

“By the grace of God, I’ll announce the brand new Olubadan of Ibadan land on Monday.

“As we speak that we’re organizing the 40-day remembrance of the fast previous Olubadan, we now have already recognized the following king.
