The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has taken his campaign to the Ogbomoso Zone of the state to canvass for support for his re-election bid at the 2023 general election.

Naija News reports that the governor held consultative and town-hall meetings with stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ogbomoso zone at the Lagbami Osekun Hall in the Ogbomoso South Local Council Headquarters, Arowomole and the Soun Ogunlola Hall in Ogbomoso town.

Makinde at the end of his meeting on Thursday said he is convinced and confident that the feedback from PDP stalwarts in the zone is solidly behind his re-election bid.

According to him, the essence of the meeting was to resolve the internal crises in the zone and broker peace ahead of next year’s general election.

Makinde, at the town hall meeting, announced the immediate approval of furniture allowance to local council officials in the state, and also refunded the nomination fees of all aspirants who lost out in the 2023 National and State Assembly elections as he did in the Oyo Zone.

The governor said 50% of the allowance will be paid immediately, while the other 50% would be paid in January 2023.

He appealed to the electorates to re-elect him at the polls next year in order to enjoy sustainable development, which is his mantra of Omituntun 2.0.
