Manchester City beat Liverpool to the title on the final day of the season.

The fixture sheet has rekindled the rivalry between fans of the two sides ahead of the new season.

According to the schedule released by the Premier League Liverpool welcome Manchester City to Anfield early in the season on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Manchester City however host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium late in the season on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

This is the second season in a row that Liverpool will play the first game against Manchester City at home.

According to Liverpool fans the schedule by the Premier League does not favor them.

Fans of Jurgen Klopp’s team insisted on social media that Manchester City hosting the crucial second leg at home late in the season is to their advantage.

The two sides have been battling for the Premier League title for five seasons and fans want every possible advantage they can get.

The fixture release resulted into rival fans poking fun at each other comparing Klopp to Pep Guardiola.

The fans also compared their new signing Darwin Nunez who joined Liverpool from Benfica and Manchester City’s new recruit Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
